About

Kaylen Smith is a contemporary oil and acrylic painter based in Tulsa, OK. Kaylen discovered art as a powerful outlet at the young age of 14 and has continued to paint ever since. Her work seeks to shine a raw and unforgiving light onto the feminine experience amid modern societal perceptions of women. In everything she creates, this theme is consistent. Kaylen’s work is inspired by the works of Egon Schiele and Gustav Klimt, among others.

In addition to painting, Kaylen’s professional life finds her working in grant-funded programs designed to explore the effects of emotional trauma on the human mind and body. This field finds its way into her art both thematically and—oftentimes—subconsciously.

Kaylen has been collaborating with other local artists since 2018, creating and supporting meaningful installations and paintings for events that include the 3-year "Don’t Tell Dad" art and music festival, as well as other local projects and art zines.
